PhD student position in the field “Redox flow batteries”
at the Joint Electrochemistry Lab (JEL)
KIST Europe / Saarland University
|Job description:||KIST Europe was established in 1996 in Saarbrücken, Germany, as an overseas branch of KIST(Korea Institute of Science and Technology) in Seoul, Korea. In 2015, Saarland University and KIST Europe opened Joint Electrochemistry lab, aiming at pushing forward the basic research in the fields of energy related electrochemistry. As one of the most promising large-scale energy storage technologies, redox flow batteries store energy in the form of dissolved redox couples. In contrast to the conventional aqueous electrolyte systems with the limits in voltage and concentration of redox species, the current project aims at introducing ionic liquids into redox flow batteries in combination with suitable ion exchange membranes and efficient electrocatalysts.|
|Qualification:||Master in Chemical/Material/Electrochemical Science or equivalent
You have completed a diploma / master degree and have a strong interest in research. Experience with electrochemistry, energy storage, membrane technologies, ionic liquids and redox flow batteries will be a good foundation to the position.
|Salary:||The remuneration occurs on the basis of the wage agreement of the civil service in ½ TV-L, E 13.|
|Contract duration:||limited to 3 years|
|Starting date:||as soon as possible|
