2024년 9월 17일 저녁 국제 원자력기구 (IAEA)의 총회에 참석차 비엔나를 방문하신 유상임 과학기술정보 통신부 장관님 일행과 재오스트리아 한인과학기술자 협회 회원 몇분과의 간담회가 있었습니다.  

유상임 과학기술정보 통신부 장관님께서는 한국과 오스트리아간의 과학기술협력의 중요성과 필요성을 언급하시며 재오과협의 역활 및 기여 방안 등을 논의 하셨고 참석했던 참가자들은  그간의 협력사례와 또 현재 준비 중인 협력 사례를 언급하며 프로젝트를 성공적으로 수행하기위한 상호간 제도의 차이와 개선의 필요성을 제안을 하였습니다. 아울러 2025년에 개최되는 EKC2025의 개최 배경, 필요성과 어려운점을 설명하며 정부의 지원도 부탁을 하였습니다. 유상임 장관꼐서는 다음날 오스트리아 연방과학연구부 장관관의 회담에서도 오스트리아와 한국간의 연구개발 분야의 협력 확대와 EKC2025 행사 등도 논의를 하신다고 하셨습니다.

On the evening of September 17, 2024, we had a meeting with the Minister of Science and ICT, Prof. Sang-im Yoo, who visited Vienna to attend the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and some members of the Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in Austria (KOSEAA).  

Minister Yoo mentioned the importance and necessity of science and technology cooperation between Korea and Austria and discussed the role and contribution of the KOSEAA, and the participants mentioned the past cooperation cases and the cooperation cases currently under preparation, and made suggestions on the differences in the mutual system and the need for improvement in order to successfully carry out projects. KOSEAA Members also explained the background, necessity and difficulties of organizing EKC 2025 and requested the government's support. The next day, Minister Yoo also meets with the Austrian Federal Minister of Education, Science and Research to discuss the expansion of cooperation between Austria and Korea in the field of research and development and the EKC2025 event.
